The Girdwood Center for the Visual Arts

Our nonprofit, co-op gallery hosts more than 40 Alaska artists who work in a wide variety of media. Any purchase you make with us supports the continuation of arts in the Last Frontier. Our gallery has a little something for everyone.

For more than 25 years, volunteers have selflessly dedicated their time and energy to provide a local venue for artists, encouraging a desire to share and explore art. Workshops, as well as hosting solo and group shows, continue to inspire artists and add new talent to our organization.

The Girdwood Center for Visual Arts is searching for new artists.

The gallery is a co-operative, open year round and is part of a Girdwood based non-profit promoting the arts and art education in the Four Valleys area.  We are actively seeking artists working in all mediums.  Exceptions: photography, beadwork jewelry, and glass as we have multiple artists working in these mediums.

For an application and information about membership requirements please stop in at the gallery which is located next door to the Bake Shop on Olympic Mountain Cir., by phone at 783-3209 or via email at gcvamanager@gmail.com.

The GCVA provides a variety of community events to keep art alive in Alaska.

Recognized as a leader in Alaska’s arts community GCVA receives grants from the Anchorage Arts Advisory Commission and Alaska Arts and Cultural Foundation. As important, GCVA enjoys the support of the members of the Girdwood community through their generous donations of time and financial contributions.

As a result pottery, fabric, oil painting, watercolors, silk painting, woodworking, jewelry, glass, and more are available at our enchanting gallery. Visit us and take home a unique interpretation of Alaska from the Girdwood Center for the Visual Arts.
